The objective of this assignment is to assess the potential social and environmental impacts of the proposed REDD+ activities; and to develop an ESMF, in line with Guyana’s emerging national REDD+ Strategy. The SESA and ESMF will be designed to be compatible with UNFCCC and FCPF requirements and take national circumstances into account, following the principles of transparency, completeness, consistency, comparability and applicability ensuring robust consultations with key stakeholders.

Winrock International will lead the development of the REDD+ Strategy, while Climate Law and Policy, will lead the development of the SESA and the Environmental and Social Management Framework [ESMF].
